Spanish fashion designer and pro-Palestinian advocate Miguel Adrover publicly announced his refusal to create custom designs for pop star Rosalia, citing what he characterized as her inadequate public support for Gaza amid the ongoing conflict.
"Silence is complicity, and even more so when you have a big loudspeaker where millions of people listen to you when you sing. That's why you have the responsibility to use this power to denounce this genocide," the antisemitic and pro-Palestinian fashion designer declared on Instagram.
"Rosalia, this is nothing personal. I admire you for all your talent and for everything you've achieved. And I think you are much more than those artists who only dedicate themselves to show business and entertainment. Now we have to do 'The Right Thing,'" he explained.

The social media post included screenshots of emails between Adrover's team and Rosalia's representatives, who had requested a "custom look" for the 32-year-old performer. Adrover's representatives responded by stating, "I'm sorry but Miguel doesn't work with any artist who doesn't publicly support Palestina." This stance appeared contradictory to many observers, who recalled Rosalia's early Iron Swords war appeals for Gaza humanitarian donations – indicating the motivation here seems primarily focused on public perception rather than genuine Gaza advocacy.
While numerous Israelis predictably responded with Israeli flag emojis in the comments section, the Spanish pop star's international fanbase rallied to her defense throughout the post's replies. "Correct strategy. You're simply attempting to generate publicity from currently the world's most prominent musical artist. She merely sought professional collaboration with you and your staff. Disappointing."
One Israeli commenter responded, "Address your domestic concerns and perhaps begin cultivating actual fashion design abilities, since Israel genuinely disregards your endorsement, your activities, your declarations, or your meaningless perspectives."
