Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa said Wednesday that security negotiations with Israel could lead to results in the "coming days".
Al-Sharaa described a potential security agreement with Israel as a "necessity", stressing that it must respect Syria's airspace and territorial integrity and unity. He added that if such an agreement were successful, it could open the door to other agreements, but said peace and normalization were not currently on the agenda.
The Syrian president also noted that there was no pressure from Washington on Damascus to reach such a deal with Israel.
