Senior Kurdish figure Ilham Ahmad revealed Tuesday that the Kurds maintain contact with Israel and welcome support "from any source."
Her remarks followed territorial gains by Ahmed al-Sharaa's government forces in regions east of the Euphrates River, capturing substantial swaths of terrain previously controlled by Kurdish militias. Combat has persisted despite an announced ceasefire between the parties.
"Certain individuals from the Israeli side maintain communication with our representatives... should these discussions yield support, we remain receptive to assistance... regardless of its origin," Ahmad told journalists during a video conference.

She further noted that absent an effective ceasefire, "Damascus persists in striking our territories while refusing dialogue, rendering the agreement meaningless at present."
Ahmad, holding a senior position within the Autonomous Administration governing northeastern Syria, disclosed earlier this month that seven of her relatives perished in a government assault on Aleppo's Sheikh Maqsoud district.
