The IDF Persian-language spokesperson published an unusual message on X on Thursday, directly calling on Iranian citizens to make contact with the IDF or the Mossad via their official social media platforms.
In the statement, the Persian-language account wrote: "We ask the patriotic Iranian people to act only in accordance with our official methods of communication and to contact us regarding any cooperation. The pages and links included in this post are the only official and authentic accounts."
The message follows recent reports alleging Israeli contact with protesters in Iran, as well as online posts encouraging individuals to reach out to specific accounts. According to those reports, various social media approaches were attributed to Israeli entities.
In the past, during periods of protest and in the lead-up to Operation Rising Lion, there were claims of Israeli activity on Iranian soil and alleged contact with regime opponents.
