Jewish Voice for Peace hosts Tlaib, who had faced charges of anti-Semitism from Jewish groups over her remarks against Israel and US policy.

Canadian PM Trudeau names former Canadian politician and human-rights advocate Irwin Cotler as country's envoy on preserving Holocaust remembrance and combating anti-Semitism. Cotler will lead the Canadian government’s delegation to the 34-member International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, while also working with Canadians, civil-society groups, and academics.

The incident was first reported by Ferris State University's newspaper. Screenshots taken by the paper show Professor Thomas Brennan tweeting, "COVID-19 is another Jewish revolution."

The probe comes in response to anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist incidents at the university over the past few years, as outlined in a complaint.

A new advisory group will "assist the chancellor and university leadership to identify opportunities to enhance the campus environment for students, faculty and staff, and to advance its commitment to an inclusive community where all feel welcome," according to a statement.

"Comments made on social networks by the perpetrators of the latest attacks or on videos of allegiance, references to Jews are constantly present, even systematic," says Francis Kalifat, president of the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions of France.

One out of five American Jews has been the target of an anti-Semitic remark online, American Jewish Committee says.

The Washington ceremony was to have included US Special Envoy for Monitoring and Combating Anti-Semitism Elan Carr and Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, chairman of the board of trustees of the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence in Bahrain.

The decision by a majority-Muslim country comes days before its parliament hosts the first Balkans Forum Against Anti-Semitism.
