British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is has announced that the United Kingdom officially recognizes a Palestinian state, joined by Canada and Australia.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to formally announce the UK’s recognition of a Palestinian state this coming weekend, the London Times reported.

French President Emmanuel Macron initially said France’s recognition would depend on steps by the Palestinians but later dropped those demands. Now he appears to be reverting to his original stance, meaning recognition will not take effect immediately.

Israel has carried out at least four of the five actions defined as genocide under the UN convention, according to a report by the UN Commission of Inquiry against Israel.
