Reuters reports that Hamas has accepted the proposed ceasefire framework, which includes a 70-day pause in fighting and the release of 10 hostages, according to a Palestinian source.

Hamas demanded a public handshake between its leader Khalil al-Hayya and US envoy Steve Witkoff, and the release of only 10 hostages instead of all remaining hostages. An Israeli official said the proposal "does not indicate a genuine desire to move forward with a deal." 

The IDF launched a pilot program for operating a central distribution center for humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in Gaza. The packages include staples such as rice, pasta, sugar, oil, and more.

The latest proposal conveyed by the mediators did not originate with the Americans, although it was relayed through them. Israel Hayom has learned that the US intends to present its own proposal later this week, and in the meantime, American officials are delaying the key IDF maneuver in Gaza.

A senior Palestinian official has revealed that Israel and Hamas are examining a proposal presented by US mediator Dr. Bishara Bahbah, which includes a 60-day ceasefire and the release of 10 hostages in two phases. Hamas, however, is demanding a 70-day ceasefire and the release of five living and five dead hostages.

The ceasefire would be declared only as part of a deal to secure the release of Israeli hostages, according to the report. The announcement comes after Trump stated that “good news” could soon emerge regarding Iran on the nuclear talks.

Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares called to impose sanctions on Israel to stop the ongoing war in Gaza. The Maltese prime minister also announced that starting next month, his country would recognize a Palestinian state.

Since the start of the war, nearly 54,000 were killed, and 122,797 were wounded. According to the IDF, approximately 20,000 terrorists have been eliminated.
