Drivers on the road saw the aircraft flying toward them at a low altitude before it crashed onto the highway. One woman who witnessed the incident told Israel Hayom: "As it came closer, I noticed it had a different shape."

An American official emphasized that Hamas’ response should not be viewed as an official acceptance of the proposal, and that negotiations would continue. A senior Israeli official said Israel has yet to receive Hamas' reply from Washington: “Once we do, we will study it and respond accordingly.”

The IDF and the Shin Bet security agency confirmed that Mohammed Sinwar, head of the military wing of the terrorist organization Hamas, was eliminated in a joint operation on May 13, 2025.
