As Israel’s election campaign draws to a close, Yamina leader Naftali Bennett remains convinced that he would play a decisive role in determining what unfolds in the day after, but he is unwilling to take a stand on Netanyahu. 

Gideon Sa'ar's New Hope party has plummeted from a dream of 20 seats at the start of the campaign to around 10, but he is not despairing. In an interview to Israel Hayom, Sa'ar says he expects "dialogue" with Naftali Bennett and says that PM Netanyahu's success with the vaccines does not lessen his failure to handle the COVID crisis. 

863 patients hospitalized, including 558 in serious or critical condition. Death toll reaches 6,071. Sport and cultural events can take place with up to 3,000 spectators inside or 5,000 in the open air.

Likud projected to win 29 seats, followed by Yesh Atid with 18. Yamina, New Hope, Joint Arab List tied at 10 seats each. Blue and White hovers near minimum threshold.

Of the 78,854 Israelis screened over the past 24 hours, only 2% tested positive for coronavirus, Health Ministry says. Vaccination drive proves successful as the latest figures show that in people 60 and older who were vaccinated there have been 86% fewer infections and 91% fewer deaths.

"If we work hard and convince undecided voters, we can win these elections," Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid tells supporters. New Hope chief Gideon Sa'ar and Yamina head Naftali Bennett hint of possible collaboration following the March 23 elections.
