Yossi Devash from Moshav Hatzav in southern Israel switched from growing regular tomatoes to cherry tomatoes due to a shortage of manpower but he will never give up on agriculture. “This profession is in my blood” he says.
Farmer Noam Yaakova moved to Moshav Nir Banim in southern Israel at the age of three months and has loved the land ever since. “I hope I never stop being a farmer,” he says, “but my livelihood is controlled by the supermarkets who completely mistreat me.”
Veteran farmer Nurit Azoulay from Moshav Lachish in southern Israel has grown grapes and peppers her entire life. “I love what I do and I do what I love,” she says. The security situation concerns her on a personal level but she is no less troubled by the economic situation of the country’s farmers.
