Elkana Vizel, an Israeli soldier, wrote a letter for the event he did not return from battle. On Monday, the letter was retrieved after he was killed along with 20 others in the Gaza Strip.

The soldiers were preparing explosives to demolish two buildings in central Gaza on Monday when a terrorist fired the projectiles at a tank nearby. The blast triggered the explosives, causing the buildings to collapse on the soldiers inside.
