This is the first time in diplomatic history that a French president has recognized the existence of a sovereign state despite the fact that its territory is undefined, its borders have never been recognized by international bodies, nor by the UN Security Council, and its population remains dispersed, ruled by two separate governments, one of which represents a declared terrorist organization. In this context, Emmanuel Macron has undoubtedly achieved a real public relations coup, but in reality, he has openly violated international conventions.
Faced with the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Macron is seeking by all means to find a diplomatic solution, but by putting the cart before the horse, he is muddling the waters, ignoring the realities on the ground and ploughing down dangerous paths.
The intentions to seek stability and peace in the Middle East are justified, but they remain transparent, dubious, and tinged with hypocrisy and commercial interests.
They reflect a traditional French policy: to serve as an intermediary in the Middle East, to be useful, to side with the "victim" to protect France's interests. To keep France out of conflicts to prevent its soil from becoming a hub for Palestinian or Islamist terrorism.

Let us remember that Valéry Giscard d'Estaing's France was the first Western country to open a PLO diplomatic office in Paris in 1975. François Mitterrand saved Yasser Arafat and his troops during the Israeli invasion of Beirut in 1982 and received him at the Élysée Palace, referring to the famous "lapse" of the Palestinian charter. Jacques Chirac hospitalized Arafat and Habache. Sarkozy received Assad and Gaddafi with great pomp...
How can we blame Emmanuel Macron for following his predecessors?
However, in a Middle East in flames, President Macron is playing the firefighter without the means to extinguish the fires, but in reality, he is hypocritically encouraging and claiming to save the real arsonist, the Islamist Hamas. Didn't this Islamist movement thank him warmly?
President Macron's counterproductive approach has provoked criticism in Washington, Berlin, and London, as well as within French public opinion. How can anyone remain indifferent to the theater of the absurd staged by the Élysée Palace after the massacre of October 7, 2023?
However, we have certainly won the military war against Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas, but we are stupidly losing the diplomatic and media battle due to a lack of competent personnel, creativity and a clear and coherent political strategy.
Yet, we have managed in the past to overcome disinformation and false campaigns:
The unfounded accusations against the massacre of Palestinians in the Sabra and Shatilla camps during the First Lebanon War of 1982, the massacre of the Jenin refugee camp during the IDF's Operation Homat Magen (Rampart) in 2002, and the UN Resolution 3379 adopted in 1975, which equated Zionism with racism, are examples among others.
In Israel and the Jewish world, passion always prevails with regard to France, but to combat the deception and isolation of the State of Israel in the international arena, we must react intelligently and calmly. Let us not take things lightly and carelessly, but it is better to put problems in their proper proportions, to present reality credibly with irrefutable arguments. Choose the essential, the important, and not the mediocre, the futile, and the gossip. See the full range of regional and international problems. Have an effective, long-term action plan.
First, we suggest recalling our ambassador to Paris for consultation on the next steps. This action is significant in diplomatic relations between, so called, two friendly and allied countries. It expresses a clear disavowal and dissatisfaction with an unjustified and incomprehensible French policy on all points.
