An Israeli dance troupe has taken joint third place at the world's largest student dance competition, the Young America Grand Prix held at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York.
The Unison Dance Academy, based in Even Yehuda in central Israel, tied for third place with New York's Ellison Ballet Professional Training Program.
The Israeli troupe performed its version of famed Israeli choreographer's Ohad Naharin's "Max."
The troupe was also selected to perform at the gala event to close the annual competition, held last Thursday.
Some of the judges said the Israeli dancers represented "the next generation of the Israeli dance scene."
The contest marked the third time the Unison Dance Academy has qualified for the finals of the prestigious competition, which includes ballet and contemporary dance styles and is open to students aged 9 to 19 from around the world.
