The Israeli American Council held a gala Israeli Independence Day event in Los Angeles on Sunday, the largest such celebration to be held outside Israel.
Some 18,000 people took part in the event, which comprised the jewel in the crown of the Independence Day events hosted by the IAC in a number of American cities.
"Israel is a miracle. We should celebrate it every day, not just once a year," said CEO Shoham Nicolet.
Dr. Miriam and Sheldon Adelson, who have donated tens of millions of dollars to the IAC in recent years, attended the event. The couple's massive donations have made the IAC the fastest-growing Jewish organization in North America.
Dr. Miriam and Sheldon Adelson own the company that is the primary shareholder of Israel Hayom.
