Israeli troops on Monday raided the al-‎Amari refugee ‎‎camp near Ramallah in search of a terrorist who ‎killed an IDF soldier last week. ‎

Staff Sgt. Ronen Lubarsky, 20, a soldier with the elite ‎Duvdevan ‎counterterrorism ‎unit, sustained mortal ‎injuries on Thursday when a marble slab ‎was dropped on his head ‎during an arrest raid in ‎the ‎camp. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital on Saturday.‎

The military launched a manhunt for the terrorist, ‎who fled the scene of the attack and remains at large.‎

Palestinians rioted and clashed with security ‎forces during Monday's raid. The Palestinians said ‎‎17 people were injured. Security forces arrested 15 ‎suspects, who were turned over to the Shin Bet ‎security agency for interrogation. ‎

Defense officials said the identity of the terrorist ‎who dropped the marble slab on Lubarsky‎ remains ‎unknown.‎

IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis said that ‎‎"the terrorist who threw the marble slab has not yet ‎been apprehended. At the time of the attack, the troops could not ‎pinpoint his location and therefore they did not open ‎fire."‎

He added that "Duvdevan's standing rules of ‎engagement have not been changed following the ‎incident."‎

Lubarsky's family said this week that "we know that ‎it's only a matter of time before the terrorist is ‎caught. We have faith in the IDF." ‎
