Trump was on hand to receive the prestigious award in Las Vegas. The prize acknowledges individuals who exemplify "support for Zionism and Jewish values."

Last year's recipient was former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley. This year, Trump was selected for her "strong positive connection to the State of Israel, belie[f] in the importance of the friendship between the US and Israel, and [her] work to strengthen the alliances between the people of the United States and the people of Israel."

"The Israeli American Council was delighted to honor Ivanka Trump, senior adviser to the president, at our gala in Las Vegas [Tuesday] night," IAC CEO Shoham Nicolet told The Jerusalem Post. "As a successful businesswoman and entrepreneur, Ivanka has been an inspiration for both women leadership and family values.

In a statement to the Post, Trump said receiving the award was "tremendous honor."

She added that her father and his administration are committed to defending the Jewish people and combating anti-Semitism "everywhere it exists."

The first daughter converted to Judaism before marrying Jared Kushner in 2009, Kushner now serves as Trump's senior adviser. In addition to raising their three children in her Jewish home, Trump has long been a strong advocate for Israel.

The Adelson family owns the company that is the primary shareholder in Israel Hayom and is a major IAC donor. Dr. Miriam Adelson is the publisher of Israel Hayom.
