Singer Eden Alene will represent Israel at the Eurovision 2020 Song Contest set to take place in Rotterdam, Netherlands between May 12 and 16.
Alene, 19, won the "Next Star" reality show, which airs on Israel's Channel 12, ]]in which the Israeli representative to the contest is selected. She performed R&B queen Beyoncé's mega-hit Halo as her final song in the contest.
Born and raised in Jerusalem, 19-year-old Alene won Israel over with her powerful voice and electrifying performances. She will be the first Israeli of Ethiopian descent to represent the country in the competition.

In the coming weeks, Alene's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 will be selected during "The Next Song For Eurovision," a spin-off of the artist selection competition. The final 4 tracks will be judged by a team of professional judges and viewers and the winning entry will be revealed on 3 March.
