On Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged on Israelis to change their daily routine in order to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, announcing a series of decisions.
The most drastic decision restricts gatherings of more than 100 people, alongside a directive to self-quarantine if you suspect symptoms.
The directive includes synagogue prayer services and events such as parties and weddings, he said, adding that schools will remain open at this time, Higher education facilities will teach remotely.
"I have talked with health officials from around the world, who praised our response," he said. "We ask that people don't hold conferences and events if they don't have to," Netanyahu added.
"We call on employers to let more and more employees work from home," Health Ministry's Director General Moshe Bar Siman Tov said. He further said that "anyone who has fever or any symptoms should self-quarantine."
Earlier in the week, Netanyahu announced that all Israelis returning from overseas, regardless of where they had been, as well as all tourists, would be required to enter a 14-day home quarantine.
