The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Israel has reached 324, the Health Ministry reported Tuesday. Five of the patients are in serious condition. Six Israelis who contracted COVID-19 have recovered and have been released from the hospital.

Meanwhile, two more workers in the Health Ministry's virus laboratory have tested positive for coronavirus. Everyone with whom they have come in contact with has been notified, the ministry reported.

A total of 223 patients are hospitalized at various medical centers and another 46 are at home.

Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba reported that seven new patients who tested positive for coronavirus have been moved to its isolation facility: Four members of one family aged 33-40; a 71-year-old man; and two women ages 19 and 25. None of the new patients are seriously ill. Corona patients at Soroka now number 12.

Emek Medical Center in Afula added three new corona patients Monday evening: two men ages 38 and 39, and a woman, 26, bringing the total number of corona patients at the hospital to six, none in serious condition.

The Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya took in its first coronavirus patient on Monday night, a 29-year-old man from the Upper Galilee with very minor symptoms.

"This is the first patient to enter the dedicated isolation ward for corona patients set up in accordance with instructions from the Health Ministry," the medical center reported.

Meanwhile, hundreds of parents of new IDF recruits on Tuesday defied instructions from the military not to gather as they dropped off their sons and daughters. The parents were not allowed to say goodbye to the new recruits at the gate of the base, as is usual practice, the parents gathered in an adjacent parking lot – in violation of Health Ministry orders that ban public gatherings of over 10 people.
