An Israeli startup dedicated to making malaria a thing of the past through smart software has been named one of the three finalists of the AI XPRIZE competition, sponsored by IBM Watson, for 2021.

The competition challenges entrants to present projects that harness artificial intelligence (AI) to address societal and global challenges. Malaria claims over 400,000 lives a year, mostly young children.
First place, to be announced in the second quarter of 2021, carries a cash prize of $5 million.
