A slew of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) groups in Europe and North America participated in an event earlier this year that included Iranian officials, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad leaders, and other representatives of terrorist groups, The Jerusalem Post reported on Monday.

On January 18, two virtual conferences against Arab and Muslim nations normalizing ties were held simultaneously in the Gaza Strip and Tehran, titled "Year to Confront Normalization" and "Together Against Normalization," respectively.

The events referred to Israel's recent landmark normalization deals with four Arab nations -- the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco -- that were signed in part of the Abraham Accords brokered by the Trump administration.

According to the Post report, more than 60 organizations took part in the events, which were organized by a broad network called the Global Campaign to Return to Palestine, which includes many BDS groups.

Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh welcomed these organizations, saying, "We see good results to the work of our diaspora in raising awareness, cutting relations with the occupation and delegitimizing it."

Other high-profile figures participated in the virtual conference, such as the parliament speakers of Turkey, Lebanon and Syria; the deputy parliament speaker of Yemen; and former Malaysian Prime Minister Matahir Mohamad, who is known for his blatant anti-Semitic sentiments.
