A new coronavirus variant that can be traced Israel has recently been discovered, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

The finding was announced following a new study conducted in Israel. The variant has not been widely spread and does not have a high transmission or morbidity rates, the officials added.
Various other variants from the UK and other countries that resulted in major lockdowns in some cases, including in Israel, but this various is unlikely to have the same effect.
The findings of the new study show that between March 2020 and January 2021, more than 180 cases of the variants were discovered in Israel, particularly in Haifa and Netanya. They also show that as the UK variant began to spreadk in Israel, the incidence levels of the Israeli mutation dropped.
As of February 2021, the UK variant is the most dominant in Israel, account to some 90% of new diagnoses.
