One of the first coronavirus case of the "Chilean variant" was traced to a fully vaccinated teacher from Raanana in central Israel who has recently returned from abroad.

Some 100 students she crossed paths with have gone into quarantine in the wake of the revalation.
The Health Ministry said it would continue tracking the variants and providing updates to the public.
"We remind the public of the recommendation issued to the general public, including the vaccinated and recovered, to avoid unnecessary trips abroad. We repeat and stress that people returning from abroad who are not vaccinated or recovered require isolation. Additionally, those returning from countries with severe morbidity rates, even individuals who are vaccinated and recovered, must self-isolate," the ministry said
Additionally, some 200 residents of the central Ein HaHoresh settlement will take a coronavirus test due to exposure to the variant.
