Israeli actress will take on the role of the evil queen in Disney's upcoming live-action version of Snow White.

The entertainment news site said that although a number of actors auditioned for the role, studio executives had Gadot in mind for the iconic role from the very beginning, according to a Deadline Hollywood report.

Disney released its first version of the story, based on the 1812 fairytale by the Brothers Grimm, in 1938.
Production is set to begin in 2022.
Gadot will have a busy year ahead of her as she is set to star as Cleopatra, the ancient Egyptian queen as well as action comedy film Red Notice and is also shooting Netflix's Heart of Stone spy film.
