Even after Israel reopened to foreign tourists, the Ramon Airport stayed closed because it did not have a COVID testing mechanism in place.
As of Nov. 25, no airlines had committed to flying into or out of the airport, although developments were expected "soon," with Scandinavian countries, Russia, and former FSU states expected to be among the first to make the necessary arrangements to use the airport.
