The special ministerial committee on fighting the coronavirus announced on Tuesday new measures in the wake of the rise in cases and the spike in the number of suspected carriers of the highly-transmissible Omicron variant.

The decision, which will go into effect after the Knesset signs off on it, will limit access to large stores in shopping centers and on the street only to those who hold a "Green Pass" that indicates that they have been fully vaccinated (currently this means two dosages and a booster unless you have special conditions).
The decision also prohibits fast-food counters in malls from giving service to those without a pass and limits orders to takeout only. Shopping malls will also have to limit the number of people present on their premises.

They also announced that schools in Israel would have to shift classes to remote learning if a significant number of the pupils are not vaccinated. The threshold to make a class move to remote learning is having less than 70% of the pupils fully vaccinated.
