Four teachers from ORT Hilmi Shafie high school in Acre were summoned for an inquiry on Wednesday following an Israel Hayom report that they had incited against Israel on Facebook.

The four teachers posted messages encouraging violence, mainly during last year's riots in the city over the course of Operation Guardian of the Walls, rather than seeking to alleviate tensions as could be reasonably expected by teachers in the public school system.
One of the teachers, Baadel Riyan, who teaches civics, wrote on October 10, 2021: "If only [IDF soldiers and police officers] could be paralyzed in their arms, oh Allah. Allah, watch over the Al-Aqsa mosque."
He further wrote: "Allah, protect the Muslim youth, give us a victory over those who have caused us injustice." Riyan also shared a video of Arab rioters hurling stones and arrests on the Temple Mount, accompanied by the following statement: "Those being arrested are defending the honor of the [Islamic] nation against the occupation's large-scale invasion of Al-Aqsa. Jerusalem is rebelling."
A day later, he wrote: "Oh Allah, grant victory to the nation of Muhammad, Allah grant victory to the Muslims over their enemies."
Ginaan Muslimani, a physical education teacher, wrote a post during Operation Guardian of the Walls in "solidarity with the residents of Gaza against the massacres" in the Hamas-controlled coastal enclave.
Over the course of the year that followed, Muslimani wrote several additional posts in support of Palestinian terrorists in Israeli prisons.
Hulud Faudi, an English teacher, published three posts throughout May 2021 with the quote: "He who seeks to harm Muslims – his punishment is slaughter."
In the wake of Israel Hayom's inquiry, Acre Mayor Shimon Lankri asked the director of the ORT high school network to immediately examine the teachers' dismissal. Lankri also met with the chief of the Acre police department and asked him to examine pursuing criminal charges against the teachers.
"The things I saw are particularly aggravating and outrageous. It's unthinkable that teachers, who receive their salaries from the state and should be expected to promote peaceful co-existence, instead spread hatred and incitement. We won't allow these evil voices to continue existing as if nothing happened. I hope the police and other security agencies handle these wild weeds properly," said Lankri.
The ORT school network said the teachers were summoned for a hearing prior to being fired: "We condemn all incitement and violence, and are working to promote coexistence in the city."
