On the social media platform, the Hollywood star shared several illustrations in support of abortion rights, with the captions "Motherhood is a choice," "Women aren't the only ones who get abortions," as well as an illustration of the US Supreme Court justices.
Gadt also shared an illustration of the late US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg that included the following quote from Ginsburg on the issue of abortion: "The decision whether or not to bear a child is central to a woman's life, to her well-being and dignity. It is a decision she must make for herself. When the government controls that decision for her, she is being treated as less than a full adult human responsible for her own choices."
The Supreme Court on Friday stripped away women's constitutional protections for abortion, a fundamental and deeply personal change for Americans' lives after nearly a half-century under Roe v. Wade. The court's overturning of the landmark court ruling is likely to lead to abortion bans in roughly half the states.
The ruling, unthinkable just a few years ago, was the culmination of decades of efforts by abortion opponents, made possible by an emboldened right side of the court fortified by three appointees of former President Donald Trump.
