In the early evening hours, IDF troops arrested a Palestinian terrorist who hurled a Molotov Cocktail at the Migdal Oz settlement in Gush Etzion.

According to Channel 12 News, after setting fire to some bushes, the terrorist hid nearby with a gun and an explosive device with the aim of carrying out an attack on the soldiers called to douse the flames.

The soldiers identified suspicious movement in the bushes and apprehended the terrorist, seizing his weapon and explosives.

Earlier on Monday, a terrorist tried to stab an Israeli soldier at a checkpoint in Tapuach Junction in Samaria. The soldier engaged and fired in mid-air, as per the military's suspect-arrest protocols. The Palestinian dropped his weapon and surrendered immediately, and was taken into custody.

On Monday morning, the Israel Security Agency revealed that nine residents of east Jerusalem were arrested recently over ties to Hamas, the terrorist group controlling the Gaza Strip.

The group was arrested in a joint operation involving the Shin Bet and the Jerusalem District Police. According to the Shin Bet's statement, the investigation derived that the suspects were tasked with recruiting other residents of east Jerusalem to act as Hamas operatives.

They were in contact with Hamas officials residing abroad and received funding and equipment, the statement said, adding that evidence found in their homes implicated them in the case.

All nine were arraigned on Monday, with the court granting the ISA's motion to remand them pending the conclusion of the legal proceeding in the case.
