With complaints rising over long lines at Ben-Gurion International Airport, Israeli developer Tzahi Zilbershtein has developed a website to help passengers estimate waiting times ahead of arrival at the airport.

Tlv-busy.web.app categorizes check-in stations, security screenings, and arrivals halls in terminals 1 and 3 based on the number of people present, and marks them accordingly as empty, light, medium, heavy, or peak.
Zilbershtein, who works at Google as an engineering lead, got the idea for such a website after spending a lot of time at the airport due to traveling abroad twice a month to manage employees in Europe.
"The algorithm examines the congestion-level of takeoffs according to a mathematical model that I have built and tells you about the degree of crowding at any given time in the check-in and security halls," Zilbershtein was quoted as saying.
He also stressed that the program collects no data on users and reports can be made anonymously.
"The data is based on information from the Israel Airports Authority. The information on flights is available to the public and there is a government application programming interface that relates to the next 72 hours," he said. The congestion in takeoffs is an important statistic and it's possible to learn a lot about the congestion at the airport."
At the height of the summer season, Ben-Gurion was 1,400 employees short, which caused delays, led to flight cancellations, long lines, and lost luggage.
