Of the 4,712 participants, 49% said Russia was an "enemy," 42% said Russia was "neither a friend nor an enemy of Israel," and only 6% said they viewed Russia to be a "friend of Israel."
In addition, 61% of new Ukrainian immigrants to Israel see Russia as an enemy of the Jewish state compared to 37% of Russian immigrants. In addition, 66% of the respondents said they have a negative opinion of Russia (58% of Russian immigrants and 76% of immigrants from Ukraine), compared to the 13% who had a positive view of Russia.
Finally, 63% consider Ukraine "neither a friend nor an enemy of Israel." In comparison, only 23% of respondents describe Ukraine as a friend of Israel and 10% describe it as an enemy.
The news comes as Russia moves to close the offices of the Jewish Agency in the country, having accused the organization that promotes aliyah of gathering information on civilians illegally.
