The large tuna species, which is named after its striking bright yellow fins, is usually found in pelagic (open) waters in tropical and subtropical ocean regions around the world.

It reaches weight over 180 kg (400 pounds) ranged as high as 2.4 meters (7 feet) in length.
"This is an unusual phenomenon. It is a pelagic fish that lives in open water," Chen Topikian, director of the coral reserve at the Nature and Park Authority, said. "Something attracted the fish to the shallow water in the reef area. It is important not to approach or disturb the fish and report unusual behavior."
