A massive volley from Gaza was fired on Israeli cities in the Tel Aviv area at around 2 p.m. local time. Another one happened just afterwards, with a third one taking place just before 8 p.m., which reached as far north as the Samaria region.
The cities affected were mainly Rishon LeZion and other communities southeast of Tel Aviv, as well as Petach Tikva, where a fire broke out after a missile fragment hit an apartment building.

Multiple buildings sustained damage in the affected area, although no injuries were reported. Israeli first responders were on the scene and were searching the area for possible causalities. No injuries reported in the first two, but one injured near Rishon LeZion in the latest one just before 8 p.m., having sustained moderate wounds.

The IDF also said it managed to eliminate terrorists on the northern border who had engaged in rocket fire against border outposts.
Meanwhile, Benny Gantz, the head of the State Party who joined Netanyahu from the Opposition in an emergency government, signaled to enemies of Israel other than Hamas that they too risked being destroyed.
"The battle against Gazan terror will continue within the strip's territory – going deep, anywhere, and at any time required to ensure security for the communities that will be restored and will rebuild the region," he said in a speech. "The (ground) maneuver will be but one stage of a long process that will include defensive, diplomatic and social aspects that will take years."
A long-time political rival of Netanyahu, Gantz said the two-week-old war cabinet was functioning well and making decisions based on calculations relevant to the national crisis.
"The danger of destruction will not be our destiny, but rather, the fate of those who would do evil to us," Gantz said.
