Tamir Nimrodi, a 20-year-old from the central Israeli community of Nirit, is the hostage whose life is in danger, according to his mother, Herut Nimrodi.
Speaking in an interview with Israeli Kan 11, she revealed that her son is the unidentified hostage who has been the subject of recent media reports raising concerns about the well-being of one of the captives held in Gaza.
"Tamir is the hostage whose life is feared to be at risk," she said in the interview. The revelation comes amid heightened concern in recent days over the condition of the Israeli hostages still being held in Gaza, with no new official details released about Nimrodi's condition or the specific reasons behind the mounting concern for his life.
Nimrodi served as an educational NCO at the Israel Defense Forces' Nahal Oz base, from where he was kidnapped on October 7 by Hamas terrorists. He was abducted along with his friends Ron Sherman and Nick Beiser, both of whom were later confirmed to have been killed while in captivity. Their remains were recovered and brought back to Israel by IDF forces operating in the Gaza Strip.
No sign of life since abduction
The kidnapping of the three soldiers was documented in a video released by the Hamas terrorist organization on October 7, showing them being led by gunmen from the military base into Gaza. In the footage, Tamir is seen alive, held by the neck by one of the terrorists, wearing pajamas, barefoot, and without his glasses.
Since that day, no sign of life has been received from him, and his family has been living with complete uncertainty regarding his fate.
