The commander of Iran's armed forces, Maj. Gen. Abdolrahim Mousavi, warned Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman in a phone call that Tehran doubts the ceasefire with Israel will hold, according to a report Sunday by the regime-aligned Mehr News Agency.
"We did not initiate the war, but we responded to the aggressor with all our might," Mousavi said. "Given our doubts that the enemy will uphold its commitments, including the ceasefire, we are prepared to respond forcefully should aggression resume."

He added that the "Zionist regime and the United States invaded Iranian territory even as Iran was showing restraint and engaging in indirect talks with the US. These two regimes have demonstrated their disregard for international norms, a fact that was made clear to the world during the 12-day war that was forced upon us."

During the conversation, according to the report, the Saudi minister emphasized that "Saudi Arabia has consistently condemned the aggression and made significant efforts to bring the war of aggression to an end." He also offered condolences for the deaths of several senior Iranian military commanders during the recent fighting.
