Arab states push changes to Trump Gaza plan

Reports indicate that several Arab states have introduced changes to President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza. The amendments include a demand for a full Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and the establishment of a Palestinian technocratic administration under international supervision.

The Qatari channel Al-Araby reported Sunday, citing its sources, that Arab states have introduced several changes to the Gaza war ceasefire initiative drafted by senior US officials Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, together with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The amendments include a demand for a full Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and the establishment of a Palestinian technocratic administration under international supervision.

According to the sources, the Arab revisions also stipulate that President Donald Trump will present the amended proposal to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday. The plan would involve the Palestinian Authority having a role in governing Gaza after the war. Another clause mentioned is that the Hamas terrorist organization would "lay down its arms," but would not disband or surrender them completely.

The Washington Post reported Sunday that the Trump administration had formulated a detailed 21-point proposal for a cease-fire in Gaza. The plan begins with an immediate halt to fighting, a freeze of front-line positions and the release of all 20 surviving hostages within 48 hours, alongside the return of the bodies of hostages who were murdered. In exchange, Israel would commit to freeing 250 terrorists sentenced to life terms and an additional 1,700 prisoners jailed after the October 7 massacre.

The proposal, which has not yet been accepted by Israel or Hamas, also calls for the terrorist organization to be stripped of all offensive weapons. Senior Hamas officials would be given safe passage to other countries.
