Itay Shanny, 22, will be the first archer to ever compete for Israel in the Olympic Games. Israel's Olympic team now includes 81 athletes in 17 different sports.
It includes all 24 players who secured Israel’s spot by winning the WBSC Baseball Europe/Africa Olympic qualifier in September 2019.
Despite the mixed messages coming from top officials, not to mention the steadfast opposition of the vast majority of Japanese citizens, these Olympics will take place this summer. There's simply too much money at stake for there to be any other outcome.

The 2020 Tokyo Games have already suffered a major setback when they were postponed over the global pandemic. With questions looming over their potential cancellation, International Olympic Committee member Alex Gilady says the final decision will be made by March.
