Diamonds on the soles of his shoes
At only 20 years old, Liel Abada is the next big thing in Israeli soccer. The kid who grew up with Maccabi Petah Tikva is leading the Israeli youth team on its march to the Euros and doing brilliantly at Celtic, who are fighting for the championship with their city rivals Glasgow Rangers. Along the way he has gotten used to life overseas and has even learned to speak English with a Scottish accent. “I hope to play as much as possible in Europe,” he says, “and the main thing is to remain modest.”
