A Palestinian man suspected of running down a group of IDF soldiers in Gush Etzion on Saturday turned himself in to authorities Sunday morning.
Three Israeli soldiers were hit by the perpetrator's vehicle and sustained minor to moderate injuries. The incident occurred near the town of Beitar Illit in Judea and Samaria's Gush Etzion region.
The suspect, who initially fled to the nearby Palestinian village of Husan, was taken in for questioning. Palestinian media reports claimed the incident was a traffic accident, not a terrorist attack.
Immediately following the incident, Israeli security forces launched a manhunt for the suspected attacker.
The soldiers, both male and female, serve in the mixed-gender Kedem Battalion of the Search and Rescue Brigade. They were on patrol in the area at the time of the alleged attack.
The wounded soldiers were evacuated to Shaare Tzedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
In a statement, the IDF reported that "a Palestinian driver tried to run over an IDF force on a foot patrol mission in the Gush Etzion region. Three soldiers were lightly wounded and are being evacuated for further treatment at a nearby hospital. A search is currently underway to locate the terrorist. The details of the incident are under inquiry."
