Palestinian Authority officials said a 20-year-old Palestinian man was killed in a clash with Israeli police Thursday night in east Jerusalem.

The Israel Police said it was operating in the Palestinian neighborhood when the man fired fireworks toward the force. Responding to what they called a "life-threatening situation," police said they shot the suspect.

The PA Health Ministry identified the man as Mohammed Obeid.
