Former UN envoy for the United States Nikki Haley warned on Monday that the Trump Middle East peace plan, dubbed Deal of the Century, could be the 'last chance' for the Palestinians.

Speaking at an event by the Israel Center on Addiction, she said that she did not anticipate a warm welcome for the plan across all Arab countries, but saw "an openness to come together."

She stressed that the Arab world understands there must be a resolution to the conflict, and thus its commitment to the Palestinian factions could be lower than expected by Gaza and Ramallah.

Should the Arabs back the plan, or just abstain from rushing to the Palestinian side at once, she said, it could signal to the Palestinians that this deal is their last chance to get one – and "when presented with the fact that this could be their last chance, it's an open door," she added.

The long-anticipated Deal of the Century peace plan was to be revealed later in the day on Tuesday, after Trump's meetings in Washington with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Blue and White chief Benny Gantz.

The plan has long been the subject of leaks and speculations, prompting concerns both among the Israeli Right and among Palestinians, who have already announced they were opposed to it.

Ahead of Tuesday's release, the IDF bolstered its security presence on the West Bank, and Hamas, in a rare move, joined a meeting with its rival Palestinian Authority against the peace plan.
