Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated Sunday that Israel "would not let Iran attain atomic weapons."

Discussing Iran's reported continued violations of the 2015 nuclear deal during the weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said, "Over the weekend, Iran refused to grant International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors access to its secret sites."

"Coronavirus does not reduce our determination one bit to act against Iran's aggression," he added.

Turning to the coronavirus situation, Netanyahu said that the upswing in confirmed cases was due to the decisions made to ease restrictions and reopen the economy, but also a decline in the public's willingness to comply with coronavirus protocol.

Netanyahu also used the cabinet meeting to express regret over the death of Iyad al-Hallak, a 32-year-old autistic Palestinian man who was fatally shot by Border Police last week in Jerusalem.

Attacking critical infrastructure is not a 'regular' attack, says Rami Efrati, frmr head of civilian division of Israel National Cyber Bureau, adding if the attack on Iran's Shahid Rajaee port did indeed happen, this is Israel saying 'we will retilate'. pic.twitter.com/GKCbj4DJhZ

"What happened was a tragedy," Netanyahu said.

"He was a man with disabilities, with autism, who was suspected unjustly. I know we're conducting investigations, but we all share the family's grief. It is felt by the entire Israeli public as well as the Israeli government," he said.
