Finance Ministry Accountant General Rony Hizkiyahu on Sunday announced plans to resign by October at the latest . Shocking the financial system, Hizkiyahu said his resignation will take effect regardless of whether the government is able to pass the state budget.
Hizkiyahu stated that he will be stepping down due to the "feeling I have gone as far as I can in the position and also the desire to open the way for new officeholders."
