Israel Hayom continued to grow stronger over the past year, retaining its position as the country's No. 1 newspaper, Kantar Media's Target Group Index survey, which reviews media data, has found.
According to data reviewing readership exposure between July 2019 and June 2020, while in early 2020, as the coronavirus pandemic arrived in Israel and overall public exposure to the printed press declined, Israel Hayom cemented its status as the country's most popular daily.

During the months reviewed, Israel Hayom enjoyed an average daily readership of 27.9% of the general population, compared to Yedioth Ahronoth's 24.8%, giving the former a clear statistical lead.
The data showed Yedioth Ahronoth's weekend readership stood at 30.6%, compared to Israel Hayom's 28.6%, giving the former a slight lead.
Israelis' consumption of radio news remained fairly steady between July 2019 and June 2020, with 65.7% of Israelis tuning into various radio stations on weekdays.
Army Radio's audience spanned 39.6% while public broadcaster Kan's stations, led by Israel Radio, were a close second with 38.9%. Some 30.4% of Israelis preferred to get their news from local radio stations.
