Deputy National Security Adviser Eitan Ben-David told lawmakers Tuesday that Israel is currently negotiating with 10 countries in the hope that they will soon allow Israeli tourists back onto their soil.
Israel is currently considered a "red country" – a classification by the World Health Organization for countries where coronavirus morbidity rate is high. As a result, "green countries," where morbidity is low, refuse to allow Israeli travelers in.
The National Security Council will present MKs with its "open skies" framework in the coming days, with the hope of resuming air travel to and from Israel in the coming weeks.
