Due to coronavirus, only 54,700 Israelis traveled abroad in August 2020, compared to 1.2 million in August 2019, according to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics.
Of the 54,700 who did travel, 54,300 flew abroad (as opposed to driving or sailing), compared to 1.1 million who flew abroad in August 2019.
In April of this year, the number of Israelis traveling abroad dropped to an all-time low of 3,000. The months of April-June 2020 saw a total of 57,000 Israeli departures, compared to 2 million for April-June 2019.
