Representatives of Israel's Muslim, Druze, and Christian communities have recently petitioned the Defense Ministry to allow members of Israel's non-Jewish religious minorities to be represented in the prayer part of the annual state memorial ceremony for fallen soldiers and victims of terrorism that is held at the Western Wall in Jerusalem.
The nonprofit group Together – Vouch for Each Other is asking that in addition to rabbis, religious leaders from the country's other faiths be invited to recite short prayers for their own fallen.

Other groups that represent various minorities in Israel and advocate for minority soldiers have come out in support of the request.
"As an Arab Israeli and a disabled IDF veteran, I think it's appropriate that the official state ceremony on Memorial Day for Fallen Soldiers pays respects to all the fallen from all the different religions," said Yoseph Haddad, CEO of Together – Vouch for Each Other, which works to bring different sectors closer.
