After announcing on Tuesday that IKEA's stores in Israel would reopen on a limited scale, the Swedish home furnishings giant pushed the reopening back by 24 hours after the Health Ministry objected.
"IKEA would like to inform its customers that it is postponing the reopening of its stores, under special restrictions, by 24 hours, as it would like to convince the Health Ministry in Jerusalem that its course of action is correct," the company said Tuesday.

The company pointed out that the large square footage of its stores would allow the public to shop there safely.
