The Shin Bet security agency said Monday that it will begin phasing out the tracking of coronavirus patients' phones, citing a major improvement in the Health Ministry's epidemiological investigation process.
The controversial measure was instated nine months as part of the emergency regulations imposed in the effort to curb the pandemic.

The agency currently contributed to the detection of only 10% of patients.
The Ministerial Committee for the Security Services, which was called upon to improve the measure, will likely order the Shin Bet to shelve the program, but a committee insider said it may be reinstated if the number of patients keep rising.
