IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Hidai Zilberman said on Sunday that according to the military's prioritizing system, the two first groups to receive the vaccines will be IDF health and medical personnel, and soldiers with pre-existing health issues.
After these groups, the IDF will seek to vaccinate General Staff and other high-ranking officers, followed by special forces and combat units, and then the rest of the army.
To this end, the military will open up six health centers where soldiers can be vaccinated, he added, noting that the IDF has received some 50,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine from the Health Ministry – enough to immunize 25,000 military personnel.
Next week, the IDF plans to set up 11 additional vaccination centers, with the aim of raising the weekly number of vaccinations to 12,000-17,000.
